I did.

[Jehan nudges his twin back and rests his head on his shoulder. Thank God he remembered to pack some textbooks so they could have a reason to avoid family functions they didn't want to attend. They loved their family, of course, but sometimes they just wanted to be alone without the rest of them running around]

I thought we might enjoy the chance to spoil ourselves, and lavender's more relaxing that the other scents I brought.

[laughingandlyric]

I like them better than lilies or roses, anyway.

[He agreed, going to rest his chin on top of his brother's head when he laid it against his shoulder, contently observing the scene. He knew the other scents he'd taken with him, and while they were nice, this was just perfect. Besides, lavender was the flower of devotion, and the colour of loyalty... it fit, really.]

Spoil ourselves? But I didn't do very much... maybe you're spoiling me?

[Kissing the crown of his head quickly, he then brought up an arm to drape over one of his shoulders.]

I'll make you waffles after, how about. The microwavable kind.

[Which, as they both knew, was really just a vehicle for whatever fruit could go on top. Definitely a favourite. And breakfast at midnight was sensible, wasn't it?]

Oh, you do love me. With strawberries?

[He laughs as he presses closer]

And cream?

[There'd be so much topping that the waffle would be drowned in it. How else did one eat a waffle, anyway? They weren't like pancakes, which were perfectly edible with a little butter and cinnamon. They needed something on top!]

If left to our own devices, I think we would be terribly lazy hedonists.

[laughingandlyric]

Mmm. [He hummed, in agreement.] Both. Maybe chocolate chips, if there are any of the homemade ones left. And of course I love you.

[Laughing softly, he pulled him nearer into a tight but quick embrace.]

I think we both appreciate the metaphorical value of pain too much to be pure hedonists, but... we are left to our own devices at the moment. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.

Should I get out and get the wine I stashed in my luggage? And the Godivas?

[He traces an idle pattern on Jean's chest before pressing a kiss to his jaw]

And light more candles? Make this as stupidly luxurious as possible?

[laughingandlyric]

[Has the smile even left his face yet? He isn't sure. He smiles easy enough as it is, but it almost makes it to 'ow, my face hurts' levels when his brother was being indulgent like this; for the both of them.]

That was a rhetorical question, right?

[Joked, very lightly, going to bury his nose against his hair for a moment before returning the kiss to his temple and reluctantly letting go.]

I'll light the candles, while you fetch the contraband. Or do you need help with it?

[Maybe he just wanted the excuse to tag along, but really, they ought to multi-task.]

I need help, since I have more candles in my bag. False bottom, thanks to Bahorel. I could fit a VCR, remember those and how big they were, in there if I wanted.

[Jehan stands and gets out of the tub, not bothering with a towel]

Of course I remember-- I still have one.

[Updating his VHS collection to DVDs just hadn't, and still didn't seem worth it.

But he brightened visibly at the idea of coming along. Grabbing Jehan's hand before he could get too far away, he stood up after, following easily.

It was warm still, even at night, and he didn't mind dripping. So the towels were forgone.]

Lead the way. [Giving his hand a squeeze.]

[As they walk, he keeps Jean close]

Maybe next time we can bring it and have a marathon. Do you still have those old Disney movies, or did they finally wear out?

[Jehan's suitcase is close by the bathroom and empty for the most part so it doesn't take long for him to dig out the wine, candles, and candies, leaving the other less PG-13 things he had stashed away. Those might be for later]

[laughingandlyric]

[Threading their fingers together, despite that being counter-productive to digging things out of suitcases, he bites his lip and nods.]

A few work still. Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid.

[There was something nostalgic about sitting though all the previews for movies they'd already seen.]

Hm... um, Jehan? Why don't I just drag this into the bathroom with us? Easier that way, and-- [He gave there hands a squeeze.] I won't have to let go.

[His favorite thing is watching old previews on the internet. It sends him back to his childhood.

And then Jean suggests dragging the suitcase into the bathroom and he just laughs and starts reloading it all]

And there's our practicality quota for the day. Thank God you're the smart one.

[laughingandlyric]

Part of that one is messy, but we can just sing that scene ourselves while I use my finger to wind it past that bit.

[Suggested, laughing under his breath and shortly at his second statement.

When Jehan finished reloading it, he gave his temple another kiss for his troubled before stooping to grab the handle of the case to tug it along after them.]

It's nearly nine, if we didn't use it up by midnight, we'd have to forfeit it. And I'm not the smart one.

[As far as he was concerned, his brother was better at... well, all right.

Jean was prone to compliments and being somewhat gushing over those he actually loved. So in his estimation, if Jehan was not better at everything? Then he hadn't noticed, and might insist he was.]

You are the smart one.

[And Jehan was just as bad. The poetry written about his younger twin was proof of that.

He helps Jean with the suitcase and unloads the goods again, setting the candles up to be lit and finding a safe place for the chocolates]

We don't need glasses, right?

[laughingandlyric]

[Oh, don't remind him about the poetry. He'd spend the rest of the night staring and sighing and giving all manner of actual, distressing signs of absolute adoration.

Instead, he shakes his head to the compliment; see? Jehan is even the modest one, isn't he; and goes to help with lighting the candles, after setting out the wine bottle.]

No, we don't. We can be real and true heathens. Melted chocolate in the bath and drinking right from the bottle. It'll be messy, and terrible and great.

[Only distressing if the object of his adoration did not understand just what they meant and how powerful the adoration was. Jehan has had moments of absolute despair over his love for his brother. He understands better than anyone.

He laughs]

I'll run a fresh bath, then. Hot water, more lavender, and all the things we promised Maman we'd never do.

[laughingandlyric]

[While he'd never admit to having felt that same brand of despair, so as not to upset the brother e knew well enough to understand the feelings of by almost nearly just a glance, it was certain that he had. In a way, it made the tenderness and the surrender into that adoration all the more powerful.

But, he knew he was more than a little strange for thinking so; they both were, really.]

You have an innocent face, a kind heart and a scandalous mind.

[He teased, lightly, getting the wine uncorked once he had finished with the candles.]

You know, that is the best combination for a man to have, I think.

Best combination for anyone to have. How else can you truly appreciate the world if you don't at times think that the tree looks a bit phallic?

[He smiles and runs a fresh bath, adding in more lavender than before this time]

Or that the holder of your heart looks particularly ravishable?

[Snorting softly, he went to set the chocolates and the wine on the lip of the tub.]

It depends on the tree... though, then there's the wordplay, with kinds like the 'redwood', isn't there.

[At the second bit, though, he shoots him one of those looks that maybe betrays just how sappily he feels... before heading over to join him where he was adding lavender, and putting his arms around him from behind, leaning his head onto his shoulder.]

It's an important part of the human condition, yeah. ...And the second part is only all right if the holder of your heart thinks so back. Or, well. More all right, when they do.

[Jehan leans back against his twin, sighing a bit]

Well, do you? Think I look ravishable, that is.

[laughingandlyric]

Was that ever in doubt?

[Leaning over, he'd place a kiss just behind his ear.]

Of course I do.

[shylyintrepid]

Then perhaps, after our bath, we might....?

[laughingandlyric]

We can.

[He agreed, kissing the same spot again and then nuzzling it after.]

After the bath... you really are a heathen, though.

[Getting clean just to get messy, via waffles and... well, that? His brother might have odd priorities, but Jean loved that about him.]

Says the man agreeing to it. We can take another bath later.

[He sighs at the nuzzle and kiss before turning the water off.]

It's ready. Let me up.

[laughingandlyric]

No, we don't have to. I like smelling like you.

[He doesn't mind admitting that he'd one too; they're practically the same, after all, in most of the fundamental ways.

But he does do what his twin asks of him, letting go of him but also helping him into the bath first.]

Yes, but we don't want to smell like sex when the family returns. Too many questions.

[He eases himself in and then tugs Jean's hand]

The water is wonderful, come on.
