Why, your drunk friend. I thought that was obvious--I do not even need to look beyond a few days from now to see that. I am no Eros, so I cannot say how reciprocated it is, but I could never attempt to seduce someone who has such a desperate, devoted follower.

Ahah! Grand R is something of a shade of deeply devoted.

[A pause, puzzling it, before he shook his head.]

But no. Alas! I disagree. He enjoys Enjolras because he is unattainable; should Enjolras stoop-- and this is his opinion, not mine, I am very fond of Grantaire, very fond-- stoop to the level of accepting him, Grantaire would not think it Enjolras anymore, and would be more dejected than he already is. Love is suffering, sometimes! I would rather not have to suffer; perhaps you ought to charm him, instead?

Oh, I did not mean to imply that, Enjolras was it? That he should accept the drunkard, simply that the drunkard is more devoted to that man than my own oracle was back in my youth. And I've no desire to charm the drunk, either. I imagine he would be able to sense my divinity or at least the healing aspects of it and avoid me as though I were Thanatos.

Only the ones that interest me. I actually ran into the drunk--quite literally, I might add--fetching my brother from a wine shop the other night.

He was far too drunk to rant. Dionysus made certain of that, and if you were the one sent to tend to him the following morning I apologize.

Ah-hah. So this is the reason for the ache between his brows that he spoke of! Made by Dionysus, with no metaphor involved.

Pray, was your brother the one to give recommendations of your wellness center in earshot of our group's memebers?

Likely. It was either him or Hermes. Did he look like about fifteen but was obviously not?

It seems your family quite intimately interested in us, if I might say so? [Though this he doesn't find surprising; is there any better company in all of Paris?]

More like your group happens to have literally every sort of person my siblings and I gravitate towards, save of course for women. My sister Artemis is the only one I suspect you won't be meeting as it is all men.

You flock, like birds! That is the best way to do it, I think. Friends and family kept near, always. We do have a very varied and special group, though; I should say so. I will now have a game of Spot the God during all meetings.

Oh, now I suppose I shall have to attend and in a different shape. If Ares shows up, though, you'll know. He'll be the one picking a hopeless battle.

You shift? Hardly fair! But it will make the game more sporting, that it will.

Oh-? I might mistake him for Bahorel then, merely. Though his tend to be hopeless for his opponent. Maybe I will always guess him for Bahorel's opponent, then?

If he's big, loud, and comes in demanding a fight against the biggest man there, then it will be Ares. It is always Ares.

Well, then he will be the one with Bahorel, as I know no one bigger or more manly in trait, quite frankly.

[They were a rather soft bunch; but vipers beneath it all, he rather thought!]

Hopefully I will be there to see this disaster. It's entertaining to watch Ares lose to humans.

Does he? I find that shocking! Are you at a disadvantage here on the terra firma? Could I take you at arm-wrestling, here?

Only if I let you. Ares, however, never wins a fight if he's on his own. Not even to children. It's hilarious.

And why is that, then? Actually very peaceable, on the inside?

Actually very infantile, actually. He's the god of war, but war is won by the biggest army and best leader. Ares is not a leader.

Boredom. Sex. Curiosity. You are a very unique species, you humans. So adaptable and determined, yet so easily broken.

And which is your favourite aspect of humanity? My favourite aspect of Godliness-- [Because fair is fair!] --is that even the cosmos are capable of making rather silly mistakes. It shows character.
