He knew of cars; Daniel had taught him very much of them, long ago, the jangling keys and the humming engines and the grease and the sparks, even how to make them stay between the yellow and white lines on the pavement; and he appreciated their speed. It must feel like flying, to a mortal, who could not move as they did. The wind and the humming. It gave him a little thrill, even.
But it had been a long time since he'd used a car-- how long? He could not recall. Perhaps centuries? Well, long enough anyway, that keys were no longer what was used... and he really did not know how to make it start.
Neither did Louis, by the look of it.
Armand commentated dryly, sitting in the passenger seat, but offered really no more helpful suggestions.
"If it were to work like that, it would already be purring smoke. You must try something else."

Besides, loathe as he was to admit it, dear Louis had Lestat ever at his heels... and if ever there was a vampire who tried to be modern at every turn, growing more curiously tacky generation by generation, it was he.
"Why do we not take one that is already on? There are plenty on the road already." All it took was a whisper into a mortal ear for them to 'gift' it to them. Surely it would not be missed.

"I suppose it could not hurt," somewhat doubtfully. "It would certainly save us quite a lot of bother."

Date: 2014-01-14 04:27 am (UTC)Louis, actually going along with such a plan? He had always found the young immortal fun, and not seen any truth in Lestat's complains of him, as he saw little truth in Lestat's complaints of anything.
This merely proved it.
"Come, then." Opening the door with almost a little too much force, he was around at Louis' side and getting his own door, offering a hand in a flash. "Come, let's find a carriage that is already saddled."
