[Courfeyrac didn't laugh-- much. He shook his head and took a sip of his own drink, really hoping the alcohol would fix his problem.]

Mmm... There's nothing wrong with that, I just don't think I've ever had that much sugar on my strawberries.

[And another sip, because his mind began to wander in the direction of how Jehan would taste after having a few of the sugar covered berries...]

There's a first time for everything!

[Despite being a lot more... well, frustrated... he was actually also more relaxed. He liked Reynaud a lot more like this, when the charm wasn't exactly on on mode, and they were half-dressed and stealing his grandmother's alcohol and eating way too late at night.

To that end! He plucked a strawberry up and held it out for him.]

Try, try. They're way better like this.

[He hid in his cocoa... To be perfectly honest, he was much too frustrated to have his charm on... Perhaps that was better for Jehan, or for both of them, in the long run. Still, when Jehan held the strawberry out for him, well...]

[He smiled and set the cocoa down, leaning in to take a big bite. Slowly. He pulled away with a grin and holding back a laugh, he could feel the strawberry juice dribbling down his chin and the excess sugar on his lips.]

I fold, you are, once again, correct.

[Laughing outright, he went to scoop the juice up off his chin with a finger, sticking that finger into his own mouth thereafter with a smile.]

I'm a very attentive student.

[.... God damn it, why'd he have to do that? Courfeyrac licked at his lips unconsciously, cleaning the sugar from them, as he watched Jehan stick his finger in his mouth... With the juice that had just been on his chin.

Terrible. He felt an annoying twitch in his pants and picked up his spiked cocoa again in hopes to ignore it.]

You still have a little.

[Pointed out, going to rub at it with his thumb, then giving a cheerful nod.]

There, Mr. Attentive. All gone.

[And he's stealing his own strawberry now and leaning on the counter to drink his cocoa... because slumping is always more comfy.]

[Honestly, Jehan, this attention is just rude right now. He grins, a little doofily, as Jehan rubs the rest from his chin, and hides in his cocoa... Watching Jehan from the corner of his eye.]

[What? He isn't allowed to be cute? Fat chance of that; he has you for an entire evening. And that doofy smile? Somehow way more handsome than Courfeyrac's dapper one. Way more handsome. Positively makes his chest flutter, and he can't help but smile back.]

Be asleep? Or dancing with Mildred Smith? Oooor... eating less-delicious strawberries?

[With a grin, giving his waist a playful prod before returning to his cocoa.]

[He's allowed... But not when they're both so frustrated. They're just doomed to smile stupidly at each other for the rest of the night, aren't they?]

Mmm wouldn't be asleep... God forbid I'd be dancing with Mildred Smith... But I suppose that's another point you have.

[He swings his hip to the side, lightly bumping it against Jehan's, before picking up a strawberry and holding it out to him.]

[It's either that, or whine incessantly.]

You're right, you wouldn't be sleeping. Mildred can be kind of cute, if you-- ignore. Um. [He wasn't nasty enough to say 'her voice', it felt too mean.] --Nevermind. But see? I'm right again. Hah!

[And he'll take his spoils! Leaning into that hip he jutted out, he leaned in to take the bite. Excuse him if he also gets your finger; he tried to one&done on the bite there, so he wouldn't be so drippy.]

[If you ignore... almost everything except her physical appearance? A witty remark was on his lips, until Jehan nearly took off his fingers when he took a bite of the strawberry.

Retracting his hand, he brushed his thumb over Jehan's cheek lightly before picking up a strawberry of his own and nibbling on it.]

Don't let it go to your head, cher.

Being right? It's already gone to my head.

[And he'd lean into that hand, for however briefly it was there.

The pet names were nice. Having him there without a shirt was nice.

He was surprised at how nice it was to just... hang out, actually.]

You can try to dislodge it, but you'd have to be very distracting.

[Finishing off the strawberry, he licks his fingers and raises his eyebrow at Jehan. It really was nice to just hang out-- regardless of the problem they shared.]

Oh-- well. Okay, fair. We have. You don't need to prove it again. I might actually, literally die.

[He stuck his tongue out again before further tending to his cocoa.

Surprisingly easy-to-drink, considering the alcohol content.]

Speaking of sleeping with people though; are you sleeping over?

[More cocoa. Yes. That was a good idea.

Wait... when did they talk about sleeping with people? He blinked and took another sip of his cocoa.]

Yeah-- I mean, if that's okay. I don't want to impose or anything.

[What else had Rey meant by being distracting earlier? He got the hint, it just led him somewhere else.His train of thought veered back into safer territory.]

No, it's no imposition. I'd be worried about you, if you walked home so late. I mean, I'd have walked you if you'd wanted, but still. It's cold. [A shrug.]

[His mind actually hadn't gone to sleeping with people-- He just meant that he was still able to be distracting without veering that far into dangerous territory.

He was trying to be good, despite it all.]

And I would have worried about you walking back... And it's cold out there, but warm in here. I'll gladly take the floor for the night.

[He would have been pleasantly surprised to hear it.

Still, he waved a hand at him.]

Nope. I refuse to take your bed and leave you on the floor. Only way you'll get me in it is if we're sharing.

[He doesn't see a huge problem with that; it's a big bed.

And they're being good.]

Sharing it is, then. What am I, a heathen? I'd never banish you to the floor, Rey. How barbaric! [Teased, with a happy smile, taking another berry and leaving the last for him.]

[Trying to be good, yes.

The teasing gets a snort from him as he takes another sip of his cocoa... But upon seeing the last of the berries left for him, he couldn't resist.]

I'd hardly think it banishment, really... But I am thankful that you did not subject me to it, you are a good man, Jean Prouvaire.

[He held up his head a little higher, still joking for the most part... though maybe he did feel a tinge of warmth at the compliment, even if it was fake.]

But floors are cold, hard, and bad for your neck; I would never subject someone to it, much less a friend. Ah, thanks! There's nothing better a man can be than good, don't you think? Flatterer, Reynaud Courfeyrac.

[Anddd he's finishing that cocoa. Was that a little too fast? Oop. But it tasted like chocolate...]

[Wait, he was already done with his cocoa? Courfeyrac downed the rest of his so he was done too.... Even though he had half the mug left.]

[Jehan is raising a brow at that a little. He hadn't meant that he had to finish too...

With a gesture, he pointed out that he had a bit of a chocolate mustache, then laughed softly.]
