Alright, I promise.

[He shoves his hands in his pockets and raises his eyebrows.]

Now the curiosity is killing me.

[An idle smile, and he rested his chin on his hands, watching the kettle.]

My idea is, we should use a blindfold. Not-- for whatever reason you're about to say, or even think. Even if it's kissing, I think it would help if you couldn't see. ...And.

[Tilting his head, he went on,] I think you should pretend that you're not handsome.

[Okay, he realizes this either sounds really silly, or really bizarre. Give him a moment.]

You're so confident, and so charming, and know what you're doing so well... but everyone is different. You can't just expect that what's 'good' for everyone is 'great' for everyone. And while confidence is attractive, vulnerability is romantic. It lets people learn each other, and make mistakes, and fix them and get even better.

So, even if all we do is talk tonight... for once, why don't you pretend that you're not automatically good, and not know for five minutes how handsome you are, and be left wondering what someone else is thinking, rather than reading their mind?

[When he had an idea, he had a tendency to ramble.]

[Courfeyrac watched him, eyebrows raising slightly at the blindfold comment, but he wisely opted not to laugh. It was a... well, very curious way of going about things. But pretending he's not handsome-- He doesn't even know how to start on that one. He allowed Jehan to ramble, interested in hearing more of what he had to say.

And to be honest? This really was the strangest request he's ever heard. Biting down on his lip, he mulled it over, canting his head from side to side.]

That could be interesting... I don't know where to begin in pretending I'm not handsome, but perhaps that blindfold thing would help.

Sure. Why not, let's give it a whirl.

[He rolled his eyes gingerly, but was at least glad he was willing to try.

Maybe to someone, Courfeyrac really wasn't handsome; beauty was in the eye of the beholder. But there was something to be said for letting your partner make you feel beautiful, rather than knowing it so well it didn't come as a surprise, and the little thrill of nerves at wondering.

Grabbing mugs now, Jehan went to fix the cocoa, pouring the water when it was ready, and then passing him his with a light smile.]

Well, thank you. It's sweet of you not to laugh or make a face at me.

Let me know if you need marshmallows. I am here to serve.

[The problem was, Courfeyrac had yet to come across someone who didn't find him attractive. He took the mug with a grin of his own as it was passed to him.]

I do have personality traits other than charming and arrogant, you know... And you don't have to serve me, Jehan... but I am fine without any marshmallows.

[Taking a sip of the cocoa after blowing on it to cool it, he licks his lips for any excess chocolate.]

When would you like to start this experiment of yours?

[A short, quiet laugh and he shook his head, having a sip.]

It's a saying, Rey. I'm not going to do your laundry and fix your tie.

[But he nodded at what he'd said.]

...I know. Or I wouldn't have invited you. [He really didn't speak to anyone he didn't like, as a person. Charming and arrogant? Not his favourite kind of people at all. He knew that Reynaud was also very sweet, very humorous, smart, and a loyal friend. See? Not all bad. Not even 5% bad, really.]

Um-- maybe just after the cocoa! I feel like mixing blindness and hot drinks is dangerous? Or at least messy. Then I really would have to do your laundry.

A saying, yes, but I still felt the need to point it out.

[Because he may not trust Jehan to fix his tie... Still, he hid his smile in his cocoa as Jehan continued.]

Dangerous and messy, yes. And I'd hate for you to have to do my laundry while I was in a state of undress in your room.

[.... He's going to have a really difficult time with this blindfold thing.]

Choking a little on another sip, he had to put the mug down a moment, flattening a hand over his mouth and giving him a look.]

...We have bathrooms, you know.

[Retorted, but with a creeping blush and a smile he couldn't quite help.

God, if anyone ever needed a blindfold, it was him!]

[Oh and he's fighting back such a smirk right now. Look at that self control.]

Not bathrooms that are as comfortable as your bed is sure to be. But that's neither here nor there considering I am not blindefolded while finishing this cocoa.

[That's it! He's drinking the cocoa quickly now, because the sooner he was blindfolded and a little less sure of himself, the better!

Honestly, totally incorrigible.]

[Because he noticed the difference in his pace of drinking the cocoa. Grinning just a little, he went to finish his own, taking big gulps of the warm liquid.]

Finishing in record time, absolutely blushing now, he set the cup in the sink, rinsed it, and then shot Reynaud a stare. Okay.

He could do this. (He was almost halfway sure.)]

We're going upstairs.

Licking his lips as he finished his own mug, he smiled at Jehan and went to rinse his own cup before turning to him.]

More committed to this plan then ever (Rey had a game plan for absolutely everything, he knew how to move, what to say, how to say it... there had to be a way to take away all of the easy, learned, boring stuff and see what he was like as a normal human being rather than Eros in a sock-hop outfit), he led the way upstairs.

He'd pause outside of his bedroom though, turning back to him.]

Scratch that. I am taking your tie.

[Decided, before promptly reaching up to go and unknot it. He'd never been inside of his bedroom, and maybe it would help for him not to know where anything was, not have a clue of what his surroundings were like. To be just a little bit lost.]

[Eros in a sock hop outfit... He would have loved to hear that comparison. He nearly bumped into Jehan when they stopped outside his door, raising an eyebrow at the abrupt change of plans.

He gave a slow shrug of his shoulders and moved his hands up to help Jehan remove the tie in question, fingers brushing his whenever possible.]

Very well, as long as you're careful with it.

[laughingandlyric]

I know how to untie it, Rey...

[But he didn't mind the help, oh my god, did you use superglue to tie this, what is a real tie knot the brushing of hands so often.

Once it was free from around his neck, he went to gently loop it over his head, covering his eyes over, then a second time, before tying it off in the side, in a sloppier knot.

(You can have that ironed, right?)

There, though. A blindfold.

Leaning in very carefully, so that he hopefully wouldn't notice, he waited until his mouth was close to his ear to whisper,]

You can't take it off until I say so, all right?

[Then, pulling away and leaving the door open for him; but not waiting up;]

Come in.

[And Courfeyrac, though grinning, remained obediently still as Jehan finally took the tie off and tied it over his eyes. When Jehan leaned in close to whisper, he had to suppress the chill in his spine, but couldn't fight the breathy chuckle that escaped.]

Of course... I'll play by the rules.

[For once. But Jehan was already in and Courfeyrac had to put his hands out to make sure he wasn't going to run into anything.]

[laughingandlyric]

[He'd watch him totter a few steps before taking pity... well. Kind of.

Reaching out to take him by the collar, he'd tug him forward carefully, before pressing a solid kiss to his mouth. And, before he could adjust to that too well, he pulled back to kiss at his throat, and then his ear... before promptly sitting them both down on the bed.]

[As soon as he felt the hands at his collar, he followed the movements carefully... And was immediately shocked by the kiss. It was quite something being the one surprised by the kissing instead of doing the surprising. Even when he very nearly settled, it had ended and there was an audible gasp as Jehan kissed at his throat and ear...

He flopped onto the bed with a breathless sort of laugh, hand searching for Jehan's to only find the bedspread first... then his thigh. Well, he'd let it linger there for now.]

Dear God, Jehan...

[Smiling at the overall effect, he couldn't help but laugh a little; cheerfully; when Courfeyrac had to grope around a bit, and ultimately ended up grabbing his thigh. Well... that was getting a little personal, but it was still a bit foppish, and cute. Not as 'smooth' as usual, and that put him at ease; made it more fun.]

You don't have to call me God. Just pointing it out.

[Chided, in return for the earlier service comment.

Leaning forward, he went to press another kiss to the base of his throat, and pressed his hand over the one on his leg.]

[Courfeyrac chuckled under his breath, but has by now decided that he never wants to go blind and that's that. He doesn't mind these surprises, sure... But not being able to see a damn thing will drive him crazy soon enough.

Sighing at that kiss, he gives a lopsided grin to the wall.]

You don't want me to worship you and sing your praises, then?

[Sorting softly and pressing his head against his chest to his his face for a moment, he agreed,]

No, too humiliating... besides, wouldn't that be a very short song?

[Idly, he brought a hand forward and went to rub at his side, gaze flicking up to monitor his expression, to see where he best liked those fingers to be. Another little advantage of having eyesight on your side.]

No, I'm certain I could turn it into several hymnals worth of praises...

[.... That was a truly unfair advantage. While Jehan does that, he toes take in a deeper breath, tension relieving just a little. Not the most responsive reaction, but a slight one in any case.]

[Decided, with a little grin on his face, pulling his hand away to instead lay down on the bed and prop his chin on his hands, watching him.]
